  A fairly demanding route winding through the villages and green mountains of the Gresta Valley.

Signage: 1912. Monte Biaena Trail - Tour

You park your car in the village of Ronzo-Chienis and then jump into the saddle, following the signs first to Passo Bordala and then to Rifugio Somator. The route is mainly on an asphalted road, with a difference in altitude of medium difficulty, about 556 metres. Once you reach the Somator Refuge, you can enjoy the silence of the surrounding mountains and recharge your batteries to return to the starting point by pedalling uphill for a short distance, then enjoying the descent and riding a final stretch on a false-flat to reach the car.

Safety guidelines

ITRS - International Trail Rating System

The ITRS is an objective way to assess trails and routes from a biker’s perspective, evaluating four aspects:

·         Technical Difficulty: riding skill level needed

·         Endurance: combined effect of length, uphill and downhill

·         Wilderness: amount of planning required based on mobile phone reception, rescue options, water supply and wildlife

·         Exposure: consequences of a fall

Directions

The first section of the route, the one from Ronzo-Chienis through the meadows of Passo Bordala to the Rifugio Somator is the main climb of this route. Once we reach the Rifugio Somator, it is time for a recharge! We start off again and cover a stretch of ascent before beginning the descent, which will then wind its way through the forest before returning to the asphalt road and the last steep stretch that will lead us back to the starting point.

public transportation

The Valle di Gresta area can be reached from the other centres of Garda Trentino by extra-urban bus line 332 (Rovereto - Mori - Riva del Garda - Arco - Bolognano).

Once you get off at the bus stop in Mori you can catch the bus that will take you to the historic centre of Ronzo-Chienis via the extra-urban line 310 (Rovereto - Mori - S. Felice - Ronzo Chienis), alternatively we suggest you continue by bike shuttle that will take you to Ronzo
